Description:

The 7K is an enhanced version of the 5K, the world's leading envelope printer for the professional mailer that requires durability and reliability. This printer offers the frequent mailer the opportunity to quickly, easily, and professionally print up to 7,000 envelopes per hour with Hewlett-Packard 300 dpi ink jet technology. Mail pieces as thick as 3.2mm can be accommodated. Graphic images and barcodes can be printed anywhere on the mailpiece at print qualities of 150, 200 or 300 dpi. The 7K has twelve internal type faces, which are scalable from 8 to 30 points and can be combined with the internal attributes of bold, italic, outline and variable-width. These combine to create 11,040 different fonts for each character! No other company offers so many internal fonts. The 7K is a PCL5 graphics printer that can interface with any PC, mini, or mainframe. Windows 95/98 and NT drivers are included.

Pros:
Can print anywhere on the mailpiece
Cons:
Shuttling heads mean more moving parts to break; print quality is poor; speed is slow
Alternative:
Rena fixed head printers provide much higher speeds (up to 22K/hr low end!) and fantastic print quality!
